Hi, my name is Di Barber and I’m the Housekeeper for Focus Training and Clough Bottom Cottages.
My main concern is ensuring that refreshments and snacks are all ready for our clients: on their arrival, throughout the indoor training sessions and on breaks from the outdoor activities.
I’ve had a number of roles over the six years that I’ve been here, but I take pride in maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities and making sure that the outdoor clothing is kept in tip-top condition for all the delegates who come to Focus. I’m very efficient, but the occasional dropping of trays of glasses has lead to my affectionate nickname from Harry the Farmer, of Di-saster!!
You’ll find me here around four mornings a week depending on workload, but when I’m not working I’m a keen motor-cyclist and fell walker, and also enjoy the less energetic pursuits of reading and cooking. Although I’m originally from Reading, I’ve been in the Ribble Valley for about thirty-three years where my family has grown up, and I’m a doting grandmother and mother to my two children and two grandchildren. My life keeps me very busy but I love a challenge and find that it’s best to take each day as it comes.
