Focus Training was established in 1991, as a training centre in Lancashire with a difference, bringing together behaviour based development with techniques from accelerated learning. Utilising wherever possible our unique training environment we aim to create a truly experiential learning experience that will create personal and team change.
From our retail roots, Focus Training has grown into a highly successful training company offering bespoke solutions for both national and international clients across all sectors.

Clough Bottom Farm provides us with a backdrop for our green credentials. The farming principles are one of sustainability and this provides the environment within which we operate. We operate within a strong environmental policy and have won many awards.
Focus Training was set up in 1991 and is a result of a strong business collaboration between Harry and Jane Backhouse. Jane’s background is retailing both front line operations and latterly training. Harry’s background is in engineering and farming. You may think this an unlikely mix for a training company but the result is the creation of an environment ideal for learning and sympathetically converted period stone barns providing facilities with a “wow factor”. On the training front true facilitated learning is provided supplemented with experiential activities whose learning outcomes are memorable. Delegates are immediately put at ease in the environment at Focus Training and this along with the professionalism of our trainers accelerates learning. Many things can be achieved here over two days that may take up to two years in the workplace. On the business front both the farm and training follow sustainable business practices and for this have won many awards.
